we are brand advocates first,

creators second

we are...

brandspace — an Indianapolis, Indiana-based design resource for those seeking to take their brands beyond the realm of traditional marketing and into the unique space where the human senses culminate — the physical space.

We believe that the physical spaces in which brands live have the potential to act as the crescendos to those brands, offering a truly unique and inspiring multi-sensory experience, one that tangibly conveys the essence of the brand, fosters the desired culture, and upholds its commitments to the people it exists to serve.

We walk alongside companies large or small, seasoned or new, locking arms with them as their brand advocates as we bring their brands to life — from concept to completion. We accomplish this by first casting a brand-centric vision for what's to come. Once that vision is defined, designed and then approved, we don't simply hand off the design to take second place to cost factors, more simplified fabrication methods, or material availability. Rather, we hold on tightly to that original vision, working hard alongside the right vendors to retain design integrity until the very end. In other words — what you approve is what gets installed, no surprises.

we can...

Creatively tackle spaces of all shapes and sizes from offices, retail, museums, trade shows, showrooms, mobile exhibits, POPs, cafeterias, and just about anywhere else your brand might be experienced. We deliver our creative solutions in the form of brand strategy, 2D and 3D visuals, graphic design, and creative direction.

No matter the scale or scope, we can jump in at any phase of the project lifecycle. In addition, we often work alongside architectural & interior design firms, and branding & marketing agencies, acting as a specialized extension of their team.

we seek...

To translate brands into attractive, on-mission environments, designed to educate, captivate, and motivate. We're convinced that coherent, thoughtful branded spaces can deliver the best results, and to help you get there we begin with a conversation where sleeves are rolled up and thoughtful questions are asked in order to help guide you to consider your brand through a fresh lens. From here we create space for your brand to be seen, heard, and felt. We accomplish this through well-crafted messaging, visuals, and thorough creative direction as we direct your brand in the way of focused, intentional ownership within the physical spaces it seeks to engage.

how we collaborate

define

The most crucial step in our process begins with a conversation. Our aim here is to thoroughly understand the brand: its history, culture, vision & mission, values, and people all for the purpose of leveraging the eventual physical space as a canvas to foster the brand and serve those who occupy it. It's here that we establish the brand as the foundation for all that follows.

design

Once we've grasped a clear understanding of the brand and the goals surrounding the space, we begin imagining what could be. This often gives way to a collaborative exercise in which we consider the audience, the experience, and the overall purpose & function of the space. From here we create compelling 2D & 3D visuals that capture the vision for all we've covered thus far, offering us a detailed glimpse of what's to come.

direct

Once the concept is approved we take off our design hat for our project management hat, and walk through details of the space by identifying building materials, finishes, dimensions, fabrication methods, and install procedures — all to ensure that the approved design is exactly what gets produced and installed. We identify and then work directly with vendors on site until the project is completely finished, all for the purpose of closing the space between concept and reality.

what drives us

icon-shield-brand-advocate-brandspace
  • be a brand advocate

We are the client's advocate — absolutely. We're also “Brandvocates,” — advocates for the client's brand. We boldly take this stance because the lines between personal preference and a brand's mission, vision, values, etc. can sometimes become blurry, especially in a fast-pace corporate culture or industry when decisions need to be made rapidly, within strict budgets, or between numerous team members and over countless emails. These are just a few of the factors that have the potential to subtly and gradually strongarm what the brand stands for, which is why we start here — establish the brand as the foundation on which we imagine and create, keeping it front and center from concept to completion.

  • be flexible

Being a small practice allows us to remain agile, which means we're able to pivot quickly if need be (this is usually the case!). This is why we aim for PROfection rather than perfection. The difference is, not if, but when challenges arise, you want someone on your team who can proficiently and quickly solve the matter with little to no deviation from the approved design concept, keeping the project intact and on schedule. This is the area where we humbly feel we shine the most due to our understanding of materials, finishes, fabrication, installation, construction… we could keep going but you get the point.

  • be all in

From start to finish, we remain present to ensure that what gets approved is precisely what ends up in your space. This means that once a design is approved, we hold tightly onto that vision as we remove our creative hat and swap it for our project management hat. We work alongside printers, interior designers, architects, electricians, fabricators, GCs, engineers, installers, painters, and anyone else who might be involved along the way — speaking their language to collectively make decisions that best suit the space, budget, and schedule.
